Lebanon High School junior Caleb Newman was recently recognized for his performance in the highly competitive national Investwrite Essay competition. The only national finalist from Ohio, Caleb was awarded Second Place, out of over 9,000 competitors from across the United States. For his efforts, Caleb received a brand new computer and a plaque recognizing his outstanding achievement.

Caleb was a student in Frank Back’s Personal Finance course and is a member of the Lebanon Future Business Leaders of America chapter. Mr. Back added, “Caleb is an outstanding student and a terrific young man. We are proud of his efforts. His knowledge of investing concepts and his ability to communicate through his writing skills led to his outstanding performance in this competition. Lebanon High School has had many national finalists in this competition in the past, but this was the best performance by a Lebanon Warrior so far.”

InvestWrite is an innovative national writing competition, produced by The Stock Market Game program, that adds a critical thinking component to help reinforce concepts learned in the classroom.
