Varsity Basketball Coach
Lebanon City Schools is pleased to announce that Nathan Chivington has been named the next Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach for Lebanon High School. Coach Chivington most recently served as the Varsity Head Basketball Coach for Fairborn High School where he is the winningest coach in school history. He will be replacing Coach Kevin Higgins, who led the Warriors for the past four seasons before being named the head coach at Hamilton High School. Mr. Chivington will also serve the district as a math teacher at Lebanon High School.
Coach Chivington is a 2001 graduate of Miami East High School where he was a four year starter in basketball and a three time team captain. He continued his playing career first at Taylor University, and then at Bluffton University. Prior to serving as the head coach in Fairborn for the last ten seasons, Coach Chivington worked as an assistant coach at both Franklin and Miamisburg. In 2011, he was named the GWOC South Coach of the Year. He led Fairborn to GWOC South Championships in 2011, 2016 and a 2014 Sectional Championship.
Coach Chivington will be meeting with returning players at LHS in the near future to introduce himself, discuss offseason conditioning and establish goals for the upcoming season. He will also be working with the athletic director in filling his assistant coaching positions in the upcoming weeks. A public meet and greet is being planned for a future date.
