Four Individuals Inducted into Hall of Fame
GENE 'CHIP' BONNY
For more than 30 years, Chip has been a driving force in the Lebanon community. He and his wife raised eight children here—five of whom graduated from Lebanon—and his dedication to youth sports has left a lasting mark. Chip coached over 50 seasons of football, basketball, and softball, always stepping up when a team needed a leader.
When his son expressed interest in lacrosse, Chip helped launch the Lebanon Lacrosse Program alongside Ted Tomlinson. From organizing equipment to securing funding and facilities, he helped create a program that eventually became a varsity sport for both boys and girls.
Chip also served three terms on the Lebanon City School Board from 2008 to 2020 and has been a longtime member of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club. His selfless leadership and tireless support of students, families, and staff have left an enduring legacy across the district.
ROBERTA 'BOBBI' HURTT
Bobbi is a beloved former teacher whose creativity, compassion, and dedication shaped the lives of countless students at Lebanon City Schools. She was a fourth grade teacher for more than 30 years. She built strong relationships with her students and their families, creating a classroom culture that prioritized kids first and learning second—especially in math, science, and social studies.
Bobbi is best known for creating Pioneer Day, a hands-on, schoolwide fourth-grade event that brought history to life with interactive lessons and her famous homemade Rabbit Stew. Her lessons were practical, meaningful, and always memorable.
Even in retirement, Bobbi continues to support her daughters—both educators—in their classrooms. She remains a role model to teachers across the district, and her love for learning continues to inspire students and staff alike.
DR. TIMOTHY LINKER
For 20 years, Dr. Timothy Linker served as Lebanon’s volunteer team physician, attending countless Friday night football games and supporting student-athletes with professionalism and care. He never accepted payment, instead offering his services purely out of commitment to the students and coaches he served.
His selflessness helped the district avoid financial strain while ensuring athletes received expert medical attention. Quietly and consistently, Dr. Linker showed what it means to give back with no expectation of recognition.
His legacy is one of service and generosity, and his decades of dedication have had a lasting impact on Lebanon City Schools and its athletic community.
