School Bus Safety Week
Posted on: October 13, 2023
National School Bus Safety Week is October 16-20. In the last five years there have been 6,200 crashes involving school buses in Ohio. Nearly 2,000 people were injured and eight were killed; one of those killed was an occupant on a school bus. Law enforcement officers will be highly visible in school zones and will be following school buses to help spread awareness about school bus safety. They will be increasing enforcement of school bus violations, such as passing a stopped school bus, and school zone violations.
EVERYONE plays an important role in keeping our students and school bus drivers safe! We are thankful for our law enforcement partners and their ongoing commitment to promoting safe student transportation.
