Update from LJHS- 10.26.2020

Posted on: October 23, 2020

Picture Makeup/Retake Day-  Students who did not get pictures taken earlier this year or those who wish to get their photos remade, can do so on Wednesday, October 28th.  Students wishing to have retakes need to return their package to school and present it to the photographer on the day of pictures.  If you ordered pictures online, please send the confirmation number in with students.   If you have questions about retakes, please contact the school office at 934-5300.

Conference Reminder-  Conferences are set for Thursday, October 29th (3:30-7:00) and Thursday, March 18th (TBA).  A link to the conference sign up site can be found below. You can select the teachers you would like to meet with on conference night. Once you have done this, you will receive an email that allows you to register for the conferences and select specific times to meet with each teacher. You will receive this email immediately (check spam if you do not receive it). For the safety of everyone involved, we are requesting conferences be held by phone. If you would like an in-person or video conference, you need to email the teacher(s) and notify them of this preference after you schedule your conference. Teachers will contact you by phone at the designated conference time.  If you do not email the teachers, we will assume you are comfortable with a phone conference. Should an in-person conference be necessary, here are the guidelines that must be followed.

  • Only the student and their caregiver(s)should attend the conference.

  • Caregivers will make arrangements for siblings to remain at home or choose to have their conference over the phone or virtually.

  • Caregivers will walk directly to their student's classroom(s) and leave the building following their conference(s).

  • Caregivers and staff members should not congregate in the hallways.

  • Teachers will meet with caregivers in different sections of their classroom.

  • Teachers will disinfect the section of the classroom that was used for the conference and then use a different section for the next conference.

  • If a conference is still in session caregivers should wait in the hallway for it to conclude and allow time for the teachers to disinfect the area that was used.

Everyone will conduct a health assessment prior to arriving at LJHS and anyone showing ANY symptoms of Covid 19 should not attend in person conferences.
