Update from LJHS- 8.26.2020
Good Evening,
Let me begin by saying that our LJHS students have been AMAZING to work with these first few days. They are following our face covering policy, distancing rules, and adjusting to the new classroom structures and procedures. Our teachers have adjusted their instruction and is it exciting to see students learning in the building again- sometimes the learning looks like a traditional classroom and sometimes it has been adjusted to meet the needs of our current restrictions. Students are using technology to work in groups which would otherwise not be possible! Through all of this, our students have been cooperative, understanding, and engaged. Thank you for your support as parents in making our first 8 days successful.
Below are a few reminders and some updated information.
Picture Day- Picture day will be Tuesday, September 1st. We apologize for the delay in communicating this to you but we wanted to ensure we could safely have the pictures taken and maintain our distancing protocols. We believe we have a plan to do this. Picture information was sent home with students today. Here is a link to that information in the event you did not receive the notice from your student. Orders can be placed online! PICTURE DAY FLYER
Morning and Afternoon Traffic- Morning traffic is taking a little longer to drop because of the increased volume of cars each morning. Please be patient and pull all the way forward when dropping students. If you drop along the sidewalk by the event entrance, main entrance, and bike racks, we will be able to get the line moving quicker. The event doors are open and students can enter the building through those doors as well. Also, as a reminder, please do not drop your student off on Miller Road. This is dangerous and creates additional traffic issues. If students walk to school or get dropped off somewhere else to walk, they must use crosswalks to cross Miller Road. Finally, in the afternoons we have asked students to stay on the sidewalk along the building and enter the parking lot through the yellow marked area at the center of the parking lot. They should walk down the center to the row in which their car is parked. Students should not be cutting between cars or down the fence line.
No School September 7th- Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, September 7th.
Parent Tech Support Website- This website has been designed as a resource for parents to assist with questions related to Lebanon technology. The website is linked to the junior high website as well.
Thank you again for a successful start to the school year.
